GREETINGS FROM OUR PRESIDENT GENERAL
On behalf of the members of the National Society of New England Women, it is my pleasure to welcome you to our website.
Our organization, founded in 1895, brings together women of New England ancestry to honor and perpetuate the ideals and spirit of the indomitable men and women of Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Connecticut and Massachusetts who laid the foundations of our nation’s civil and religious freedom.
To further their legacy, NSNEW accomplishes its charitable goals through our national projects and committees which support educational and patriotic endeavors. I invite you to browse the information on our five national projects which are described elsewhere on this site.
Membership in NSNEW is open to women who can prove lineal descent from a man or woman born in New England prior to the adoption of the U.S. Constitution in 1789, or in Nassau or Suffolk County, Long Island prior to 1700. There are over 40 local colonies nationwide and member-at-large status is available for those who reside in areas where there is no colony. We gladly welcome inquiries about membership from those who share our New England heritage. For further information, you can contact our National Membership Chairman via the "Contact Us" page or contact individual Colonies through the "Colonies" page.
Welcome to our website!
