The National Society of New England Women was organized on January 24, 1895 by Mrs. William Gerry Slade and incorporated in the State of New York February 20, 1895 to bring together women of New England Ancestry, to engage in patriotic, educational, and charitable work to perpetuate the lofty ideals of their forefathers. The Society, as one of the oldest, has celebrated over 125 years of service.
Any woman over eighteen years of age who is the lineal descendant, of one or more ancestors born in New England prior to the adoption of the Constitution of the United States in 1789 or before 1700 in Nassau or Suffolk County, Long Island is eligible.

*Emma Hardy Slade Student Loan Fund
*Maud Brown Pendleton Student Loan Fund
*The USO
The U.S. Coast Guard Academy cadet who excels in Advanced Professional Studies, is awarded an engraved ship’s bell clock which is presented by the President General during the Individual Proficiency awards Ceremony during commencement activities.
There are over 40 local colonies nationwide and member-at-large status is available for those who reside in areas where there is no colony. We gladly welcome inquiries about membership from those who share our New England heritage.
